I can’t believe the wedding weekend has come and gone so quickly! I love going to weddings and this one was particularly fun (I may have had a little TOO much fun actually). I flew up to Kansas City on Thursday night and the events kicked off on Friday morning with the bridal brunch. It was great to be with all the ladies at the lovely Carriage Club. We had just enough time after brunch to get our nails done and relax for a few before heading to the church for the rehearsal and then to Brio for the rehearsal dinner. I was super nervous for everyone to hear me sing at the rehearsal, but it went well. The family style Italian meal at the rehearsal dinner was fantastic and we met up with some other friends at the Brio bar afterward. So great for everyone to be together, including our friend who came in from Australia!
The bridesmaids had to be at the reception venue, Loose Mansion, super early to start hair and makeup, but I joined them a little later to see the beautiful bride get in her incredible dress. It was literally the perfect dress, she couldn’t have chosen better. The guys showed up shortly after and we all hopped on a bus to take pictures in downtown KC. They had picked out some really cool spots, especially the Kaufman Center pictured above. The ceremony was held at Village Presbyterian Church and was lead by one of their awesome pastors who has known the bride forever. It was a lovely ceremony, and I sang “The Prayer” towards the end of it while the couple lit the unity candle. It was really special for me to get to participate in the ceremony, and I’m so glad they asked me to do it even though I was crazy nervous. The newly weds left the church in a cloud of bubbles blown by all of the guests. Such a fun touch.
Everything about Loose Mansion was great. It’s an old mansion made up of lots of unique rooms and they had it beautifully decorated with lots of flower arrangements. The food was incredible from the dinner, to the strawberry and lemon cake, to the 10pm cookies and milk snack. There was definitely no lack of food! The DJ played only the best songs and everyone danced the night away. So. Much. Fun.
Everyone who managed to drag themselves out of bed on time gathered at the bride’s parent’s house for some Kansas City bbq on Sunday morning before heading to the airport. I was so sad to leave such a great weekend behind. Can’t wait to relive it when the professional photos come out.
