Kiva → kiva.org

I just made my first Kiva loan! Kiva is a microfinance organization that has made $247 mil in loans since its inception in 2005. I loved that you can search through the borrowers and choose the one that you most connect with. I chose Maria in Ecuador who is looking buy fruits and vegetables to sell at a market. She ultimately wants to open a large food store.

Check it out!

Most Eligible Dallas → bravotv.com

Courtney of “Most Eligible Dallas” (which is amazing, by the way) is annoying and whiny, but the girl is right on when it comes to dating…

“Maybe I ain’t too old to start over, I think, and I laugh and cry at the same time at this. Cause just last night I thought I was finished with everything new.” —The incredible last lines of “The Help” which I finished reading last night. What a phenomenal book!! I can’t wait to see the movie.

“Pain throws your heart to the ground
Love turns the whole thing around
No it won’t all go the way it should
But I know the heart of life is good”

Hola!

I spent one more night there than I had intended, but I made it back from my first South American adventure in one piece. I was down in Buenos Aires with three friends, and we had an absolutely wonderful time. We walked many miles, learned all about the history of the city, ate delicious food (best steak you will ever have), drank tons of Malbec, practiced our Espanol, saw a tango show, went clubbing and much much more. We sucked in as much of the Argentinian culture as we could in three days. It was well worth the 22 hours of flying and 1 accidental vacation day. I’ll get some pictures up soon!
