After work tomorrow I’m hopping on a plane to London, and will then take a train (or two) to Bath. So excited to see sissy and my parents! I’m spending three nights in Bath and one in London before heading back to the states on Tuesday morning.
Have a wonderful weekend!
I had a fantastic time out on the Katy Trail this morning. I was out there walking/running/people watching for over an hour in the beautiful Dallas sunshine. In addition to burning a few calories, I also discovered that there’s a new bar about to open right on the trail. The Katy Trail Ice House is an “Austin style” beer garden with a huge patio with lots of colorful picnic tables. Before a couple months ago, the 7000 sq foot shack was a super sketchy swingers club called Jet Set. Yes, seriously. In addition to food and drinks, the Ice House is also going to rent out bicycles! It’s about a 5 minute walk from my apartment, so I have a feeling it may become a new favorite watering hole.
I also saw one of the sweetest things during my outing. There were a whole bunch of people out drawing giant arrows on the path with sidewalk chalk. I couldn’t figure out where the arrows were leading to, but on my way back I finally figured it out. They led to one of the plazas that they’ve built recently on the trail, and there was a huge heart drawn in chalk that said “Will You Marry Me?” I seriously wanted to sit there and wait for the couple to come along! Wish I had my phone with me so I could have taken a picture. Such a lucky girl. :)
I came home to discover that I won free Pinkberry from doing well in the first round of my apartment’s March Madness pool. What a great Saturday it’s been!
Have you made your picks yet?? I’m in two pools this year. A $10 one at work, and a free one with my apartment building. I’m using two different brackets to help my odds. Who do you have winning?
Another awesome fitness Groupon! $30 for 30 classes at any of 11 MetaBody locations around the Metroplex. Locations include American Power Yoga (which I’ve been wanting to try!), Drench Fitness, Ilovethisbootcamp and Psycho Gym along with several others.
The only catches: must be used by 9/10/11, can’t go to more than 10 classes at any one location
I am newly obsessed with reading food blogs. I have quite a collection of recipes that I want to try thanks to these awesome blogs that I’ve come across. I think I have enough ideas to cook a different meal every day for a year! The pictures they post make my mouth water! Below just a few of the ones that I’ve started reading.
Any other suggestions?
