Man, oh man, you’re my best friend, I scream it to the nothingness
There ain’t nothin’ that I need
Well, hot & heavy, pumpkin pie, chocolate candy, Jesus Christ
There ain’t nothin’ please me more than you
Let me come home
Home is whenever I’m with you
Let me come home
Home is when I’m alone with you
Just got home from an awesome night at Cowboys, and I have to say it was the most fun I’ve had in a while. The cover band was really excellent, and one of my friends taught me Texas two step which was so fun. They also played some Top 40 for those of you who aren’t country fans. I will definitely be going back ASAP to hopefully improve my dancing skills.
WOW, I enjoyed that movie more than I have enjoyed a movie in a long time. You need to go see it, particularly is you are a country music fan. It took a sad twist that I didn’t expect towards the end, but I thought the music was fantastic and the characters and story were excellent. My $10.99 has already been invested in the soundtrack.
This snow that DFW is supposed to get tomorrow is potentially going to cause HUGE problems for me getting back there tomorrow. Ughhhhh. This is what I hate non-reving during the winter. At least I’m having a fancy dinner cooked for me before I have to go to bed to get up at 4AM!
Today was day #1 of the weight loss challenge that I’m having with some friends at work. There are eight of us and we’ve each put $40 in the pot. We will weigh in every Friday, and the two people who have lost the largest % of body weight on March 18 (10 weeks) will split the money 60/40. I’m looking to lose the 20-25 pounds that I’ve gained over the last 6 months or so. Feeling pretty motivated so far, so I’m pretty confident!
Hopefully I’m not jinxing anything by saying this, but I have a really good feeling about 2011. After a rough start to 2010, the second half actually turned out to be pretty great. I am optimistic that this year will be as good, if not better!
Things I accomplished in 2010:
-success at work
-found a roommate and apartment that I love coming home to
-made an amazing group of friends in Dallas
-learned to Let It Unfold (sort of)
-started practicing yoga
-visited/kept in touch with many of my best friends
-traveled to some fantastic destinations
Goals for 2011:
-continue to Let It Unfold
-learn how to say no/make decisions for ME, not for other people
-get to my goal weight and stay there
-improve my yoga practice, both physically and mentally
-figure out if going back to grad school is the right thing for me
Some of these are more measurable than others, but I think all are equally important. Cheers to making all of our goals become reality in the year to come!
