Instead of making dinner plans tonight, we wandered the streets and came across this place. They call themselves an “empanada and dumpling kitchen.” Vietnamese meets Brazilian. The cocktails and the food were great, and since it’s only about 3 minutes from my building, I have a feeling I’ll be frequenting it often when I get down here for good.

Such a great crime thriller. It was long, but I was entertained the entire time even after having two and a half margaritas which could have easily put me to sleep. I did not realize until I just looked that Channing Tatum was Pretty Boy Floyd. Not sure how I missed that because I am a little bit in love with him. We sat next to Adam Mucci who was Agent Reinecke which was actually a pretty decent part.

A Night of Firsts
I had many firsts tonight. I went to the Avon Theater for the first time (loved it so much I’m going back tomorrow) and I experienced my first cult movie. I saw From Beyond and it was probably one of the more strange experiences that I have had in my life. It’s a horror film that borderlines on pornographic at times. Totally weird. The writer Dennis Paoli was there for a Q&A session after which was pretty cool. I’ll be back tomorrow to see Away We Go which I have been looking forward to for weeks.
